The spectacular Forest of Bowland A.O.N.B. is the ideal base for a walking and cycling holidays or a riding holiday. Historical attractions include Ribchester Museum and Roman remains, Cromwell's Bridge, Clitheroe Castle and Whalley Abbey. For walking bird watching and enjoying the views The Forest of Bowland A.O.N.B. has it all from easy strolls along leafy lanes and footpaths to serious hiking. Plus easy access to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. We are also not too far from city life for shopping, museums, art galleries, sport and night life with Manchester, Preston and Leeds within easy reach. Fly Fishing in BowlandStocks Fly FisheryStocks Reservoir is the largest fishery in the North West of England. It was created in the early 1930s by flooding the village of Dale Head and adjacent farmland to provide drinking water for the Fylde. Situated at the head of the Hodder Valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Stocks has a wild and unspoiled quality, the perfect place for a days fly fishing. Also Tackle Shop and cafe Bank House Fly FisheryAt 2½ acres Bank House is only a small water but it is far from just another hole in the ground. It has been carefully planned and designed with fly fishing and wildlife in mind and a total of twelve small islands are scattered over the water giving the fishery a network of slow swims and pools.
